Awards and Honors

1.     IETE BR Batra Memorial Award for the year 2005 in recognition of selfless service to the cause of the IETE for overall growth, honor and furtherance of its basic aims and objectives. The award consists of a gold medal and a citation.

2.     IETE Prof K Sreenivasan Memorial Award for the year 2005 in recognition of distinguished contribution in the field of teaching Electronics & Communication Engineering. The award consists of a medal, a citation and cash.                 Both the above awards have been conferred during the inaugural function of the 48th Annual  Technical  Convention  of  IETE on Sept 23, 2005 at Hotel Taj Palace,  New Delhi.  It is for the first time in the history of IETE that the same person is receiving two awards in the same year and also awards in two consecutive years.

3.     He has been appointed as an ISTE Visiting Professor for the year 2005-06.

4.      IETE Prof S V C Aiya Memorial Award for the year 2004 in recognition of distinguished contribution in providing guidance in Electronics and Telecommunication Research Work. The award consists of  a medal, a citation and cash.  It was presented by Prof K K Agarwal, President ISTE at the inaugural function of the 47th IETE Annual Convention at Ahemdabad on 25th September 2004.

5.     ISTE Maharashtra State National Award for the year 2003 for Outstanding Research Work. The award consists of cash, a medal and a citation. It was presented by  Prof R S Nirjar, President ISTE, on Dec 27, 2003, at the inaugural function of the 33rd ISTE Annual Convention at Kumarguru College of  Technology, Coimbatore.

6.     ISTE U P Government National Award for the year 2002 for writing of the book 'Digital Measurement Techniques'. The award consists of a cash prize, a medal and a citation. The award was presented by Dr R Natarajan, Chairman AICTE, on Dec 27, 2002 at the  inaugural function of 32nd ISTE Annual convention, Nitte.

7.     IEEE Silver Jubilee Medal for 2001 for the outstanding work done for the sister organization IETE

8.     IETE M N Saha Memorial Award for the best application oriented paper 'Programmable Gain Amplifiers', IETE  J Research, vol 41, pp 277-284, Sept-Dec 1995 presented by Prof Yash Pal

9.     Post Doctoral Fellowship: 1983-85, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada

·         Hindi poem writing: His some of the poems have been broadcasted from Akashwani Adelaide (June 1993), and some have been published in IIT Hindi Megazine 'Kshitiz' and elsewhere. He has participated in some Kavi Sammelans organized  by IIT Bombay.

Social Secretary: IIT Bombay Staff Club during 1995-96, 1997-98 and organized several social functions and picnics. Among many items introduced,  Anatakshari  (1995) and A Love Story (1997) were very popular.
