I am happy to know that Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is organizing SPIT-IEEE Colloquium and International Conference on 4th and 5th February 2008.

I understand this event is cosponsored by IEEE R-10 TAC and the IEEE Bombay section. I am quite sure that such an event will bring together experts from the both academia and the Industry from all across the globe. Such an exercise is very essential in the wake of a rapid advancement taking place in the areas like communication and Information Technology etc.

I extend my best wishes to the organizers and to all the delegates and hope that they will carry with them the sweet memory of this event.

It is a pleasure hosting “SPTT-IEEE Colloquium sponsored by IEEE R-10 TAC and IEEE Bombay section.

Tremendous efforts have been put in for the planning and preparation of colloquium by the working committee comprising the faculty of SPIT under the leadership of Prof. K.T. Talele, Head of Electronics Engineering Department. I am sure that the outcome of this colloquium and conference will be quite meaningful and relevant and will be treasured for years to come. I hope that the colloquium will disseminate knowledge in all areas to the delegates who come from different parts of the country. I am looking forward to this colloquium and conference anticipating good result in terms of increased interaction and influx of ideas.

I appreciate the effort and hard work being put in by the organizing committee to make this event successful.

I have immense pleasure in expressing my views on this occasion of S.P.I.T.-IEEE Colloquium 2008 in real sense, most such occasions where distinguished academicians, technocrats, researchers, educational planners gather and express views serve the purpose of sharpening the knowledge base of all the concerned and it will help all participants immensely to share the latest advances in their respective fields with students, faculties and their co-workers to understand the finer aspects of subjects in more depths.
The true success of this colloquium is not only in receiving large members of participation but in inspiring many more to utilize this acquired knowledge for the betterment of teaching, research and for the development of products which will benefit society in Journal.
I congratulate Mr. K.T. Talele, Mr. S.T. Gandhe, Mr. Y.S. Rao and Dr. Prachi Gharpure, my other colleagues and faculty members for the excellent efforts in making this international event a grand success.
The real credit for the success of this S.P.I.T.-IEEE Colloquium is of experts who took pains to assess about 200 technical papers for acceptability. We are grateful to all the paper contributes / Chair persons for different technical sessions / invited guests, for their cooperation and interest.
I have no words to express my sincere thanks to Prof. M.M. Shah (IEEE R-10 TAC, Chair), IEEE R-10 TAC Region and IEEE Bombay Section for their invaluable strong backing and encouragement for this event.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s management has as usual extended its true help in this celebrations and our management is our greatest source of inspiration. Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is overwhelmed by the support of Dr. M.L. Shrikant, Prof. S.M. Parekh, Prof. Chitale and Dr. S.Y. Mhaiskar in this international academic meet celebration.
I wish everybody, the enjoyable and fruitful academic time during these two days and thank all for their direct and indirect support to make this event a memorable one.

Message from Prof. K T Talele

On behalf of organizing committee it is my great pleasure to extend a cordial welcome to all of you to SPIT-IEEE COLLOQUIUM and INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE- 2007-08.

This colloquium is packed with a wealth of knowledge and information with sixteen distinguished speakers giving lectures on their chosen field of expertise. The theme of the colloquium is immerging trends in Communication Networking, Information Security, Data mining, Image Processing-Machine Vision and VLSI Design. A total of 301 submissions were received and scrutinized by senior faculties of Mumbai University. The papers were classified into ten tracks based upon various topics and reviewed by more than 100 experts from various leading institutions including both Indian and foreign Schools. Based on reviewers’ report 66 papers were selected for paper presentation and 114 papers were selected for poster presentation. The Colloquium and Conference is a two day program. Day 1 is packed with Information Security and Data Mining Workshop which is sponsored by IBM India. We would also have paper presentation and poster presentation on Image Processing and VLSI related areas.
Day 2 is packed with Embedded System Workshop which is sponsored by Symbian Bangalore and Wipro Pune. We would also have paper presentation and poster presentation on Communication Networking, Data Mining and Information Security related areas.

This colloquium will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to interact and exchange their ideas and research activities with these experts.


The program committee has worked hard to come up with a quality program which will benefit both the academicians as well as the industry experts. I am deeply indebted to Dr. (Mrs.) P P Warnekar, Principal SPIT and Prof. Dr. S Y Mhaiskar, Principal SPCE, Prof. M.M.Shah, IEEE R-10 TAC, Chair and Prof Dr. U.B.Desai, Chair IEEE Bombay section, IIT Bombay for their constant support and encouragement. The co-operation that I received from the Program Chair Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Prachi Gharpure, Financial chair Prof. Y.S Rao , Session Chair Prof. S T Gandhe and Mr. Anthony Lobo, Workshop Chair Prof. D N Shah and Prof. (Mrs.) Radha Shankarmani, Registration Coordinator Prof. M M Parmar and Prof. K K Devadkar, Arrangement co-ordinator Prof. M A Bhagat and Prof. S S Mane, and all the Techical coordinators, Publication Coordinator Prof. (Mrs.) Madhavi Gokhale, Publicity Coordinator Prof. H A Joshi and Prof. V V Gandhewar, Web Administrator Mr.Shrikant Goswami is highly appreciable. The unstinting help and cooperation I received from Prof. S S Rathod also deserves a special mention. My acknowledgement would not be complete without a mention of all the teaching and non-teaching staff of SPIT.
